Cenerentola

Rossini's opera based on the fairy-tale Cinderella, filmed in stunning real-life Italian locations in the ballrooms and gardens of some of Turin's finest palaces.

This special production of the opera by the celebrated producer Andrea Andermann was filmed at the time of day that the scenes in the story occur, so the famous ballroom scene really was filmed as the clock struck midnight. The opera features some of Rossini's most beautiful and witty music, here performed by an international cast with Ukrainian mezzo-soprano Lena Belkina singing the lead role and her charming prince sung by South American tenor Edgardo Rocha.
