Landward Christmas meal at Mar Lodge Estate
To celebrate Christmas Landward’s presenters, Dougie Vipond, Sarah Mack, Euan McIlwraith and Nick Nairn decided to spend the day at a picturesque house on the Mar Lodge Estate on Royal Deeside. Euan, Sarah and Dougie each cooked one course under the supervision of Nick. At the end of the day one of them would be crowned “Landward Top Chef (excluding Nick Nairn!) 2012”.
Euan’s Smoked Salmon
Euan was in charge of the starter and chose an unusual method to create a smoked salmon dish.
Sarah chose a Venison stew for her main course but Nick was unconvinced by her choice of fillet!
Dougie’s Tipsy Laird trifle
Dougie’s pudding was a traditional Deeside trifle recipe called the Tipsy Laird – but was it really all his own work?
Round table banter
The competitive presenters exchanged lots of banter during the meal but which of the three courses would receive the highest score and who would be crowned “Landward Top Chef (excluding Nick Nairn!) 2012” ?
