A bheil soilleireachadh as ùr air thighinn le eòlas agus saidheans, no a bheil an t-saoghaltachd ùr air 'Solas an t-Saoghail' a dhubhadh? An t-Samhain 2012, agus bha Faclan, Fèis Litreachas Innse Gall a' meòrachadh air 'Creideamh', leis a' phrìomh òraidiche, an ana-creidmheach as ainmeile ann am Breatainn, Richard Dawkins, a' piobrachadh deasbad air leth inntinneach ann an sgìre a th' aig cridhe aon de na h-àiteachan làidir mu dheireadh a thaobh Crìosdaidheachd san dùthaich. Innsidh Ruaraidh Moireach, stiùriche Faclan, mu mar a bha cuid ag ràdh nach biodh ùidh idir aig daoine nuair a thog e an smuain an toiseach.

Chaidh na tiocaidean uile a reic ann an 2 uair a thìde. Am measg an fheadhainn a tha a' dìon Crìosdaidheachd an aghaidh ana-creideamh bunasach Dawkins, an eachdraiche cliùiteach, agus an sgrìobhadair saidheins, Francis Spufford, agus an t-Urr.

Daibhidh MacDhonnchaidh bhon Eaglais Shaor, a th' air aithneachadh mar phrìomh neach-dìon Crìosdaidheachd na h-Alba.

Has knowledge and science brought a new enlightenment or has the 'Light of the World' been eclipsed by the new securalism? November 2012 saw Faclan, the Hebridean Book Festival, explore the concept of 'Belief', with headline speaker, Britain's leading atheist Richard Dawkins, provoking an intriguing debate in what is seen as the last stronghold of Christian belief in the country.

Roddy Murray, Faclan director explains that when he first mooted the idea many told him there would be no interest. The tickets sold out within two hours.

Acclaimed historian and science writer, Francis Spufford mounts the Christian defence against Dawkin's radical atheism, and sharing the platform with him is Rev. David Robertson of The Free Church, described as Scotland's leading Christian apologist.
