Alfie’s slept on the sofa, claiming Kat was kicking. Michael’s finally speaks with him when Alfie spies him with Roxy out of the window and rings Roxy. Michael admits Kat told him she had an affair but insists he doesn’t know who Kat’s lover is and demands Alfie stop torturing himself. Alfie’s fears seem confirmed when he realises Kat has gone Christmas shopping without her purse, and questions Michael about his past fling with Kat. Michael warns Alfie he could lose Tommy if he kicks Kat out. Downstairs in the Vic, a worried Jean asks Jack and Max to intervene; both awkwardly refuse. Kat returns from shopping, explaining Roxy lent her cash after she forgot her purse. Alfie’s momentarily appeased. Michael warns Alfie not a day will go by when he won’t miss Kat if he pursues his suspicions, leaving Alfie in turmoil.
Shirley’s furious Phil was made Lexi’s foster carer. Sharon soothes a worried Lola that Phil will let her see Lexi more than her allocated visits and gives her money for a present for Lexi. Lola’s buoyed and buys baby clothes on the market but Phil thinks they’re not classy enough.
Sharon’s seething with Jack for telling Derek about her addiction but later softens when Jack arrives in time to watch Dennis be a shepherd in the school nativity.
Derek claims as Jack has Sharon problems he’s taking over as best man. Max objects but Derek demands gratitude for protecting him.
In the Launderette, Cora’s dejected. Abi coaxes Cora to talk about Tanya’s scan results and Ava; Cora’s upset Ava hasn’t been in touch. Abi convinces Cora to decorate the Launderette with old decorations from Jean. Cora’s delighted when Ava arrives unexpectedly, wearing her bracelet, with a Christmas card for Cora.
