This special charity episode of the antiques challenge offers four London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics medal winners the chance to win a further honour: the elusive and sought-after Bargain Hunt golden gavel.
Who will end up on the Bargain Hunt winners' podium? Will it be red team Helen Glover and Samantha Murray or blue team Lee Pearson and Lutalo Muhammad?
Meet our Olympic Red Team
Our Olympic Red Team for this special edition of Bargain Hunt is made up of Helen Glover and Samantha Murray. Expert David Harper guides our Olympians through the maze of antiques at the Lincoln Fair.
Helen Glover wrote herself into the British sporting history books by not only winning Team GB’s first gold of the London 2012 Olympic Games (along with her rowing partner Heather Stanning), but also claimed British Rowing’s first ever female gold medal.
Samantha Murray picked up a silver medal in the modern pentathlon which would be Team GB’s final medal of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
She produced a terrific all round performance with a thrilling finale, coming from fourth place entering the last event, the combined shooting and running, to capture the Silver Medal.
For both Samantha and Helen it was their first Olympic experience.
What will be the outcome for our Olympic Red Team for today?! Will they achieve Bargain Hunt glory?!
Meet our Medal Winning Blue Team
Our Blue Team is made up of first time bronze medal winning Olympian Lutalo Muhammad and multi-medalling Paralympic veteran Lee Pearson CBE. Expert Kate Bliss guides the boys through Lincoln Antiques Fair.
Lutalo grew up in Walthamstow, east London, just a few miles from the Olympic Park, and was introduced to the Korean martial art of Taekwondo at an early age by his father who has more than four decades of experience in martial arts.
In the summer of 2011 he joined the GB Academy, soon winning 87kg gold at the 2012 European Championships. Due to the change in weight categories imposed by the International Olympic Committee, Lutalo was forced to lose a lot of weight to make the 80 kg group.
Since winning his bronze medal, life has changed quite a bit: mostly due the rise in his profile. Training is still as intense as ever but he is much more well-known and anyone he ever went to school with wants to be friends with him!
Lee Pearson CBE is a 10-times Paralympic games gold medallist having represented British Para-equestrianism in Sydney, Athens, Beijing and London. He also has six world-championship and three European titles. In London he won team dressage gold, silver in the Individual dressage and a Bronze in the Freestyle dressage. He has 28 gold medals in total, which includes European and World Championships.
His achievements across the four Paralympic Games in which he has competed have brought comparisons to the likes of Sir Chris Hoy and Sir Steve Redgrave.
So, will the boys beat the girls and win Bargain Hunt Glory at the auction?
