The Rochdale Council leader tells 5 Live he alerted Greater Manchester Police in 1999 to reports that Cyril Smith was involved in abuse of children at a residential school in Rochdale. Colin Lambert says two weeks after he reported the claims GMP told him they would not pursue them. Comet is to close another 125 stores.
