The Harbour, Series 1 Episode 3 of 6

Aberdeen Harbour, on the north east coast of Scotland, is one of Britain's oldest businesses and one of Europe's most modern ports. It is the heartbeat of the offshore oil and gas industry. Every year, more than eight thousand boats pass through the harbour waters, helped by the hidden world of the men and women who keep it running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This is their story...

In this programme, it's Ralph Greig's first day of training. He's being put through a tough test on the simulator ahead of stepping up to being a harbour pilot.

Ex-sailor Ellen Haughland has her heart set on stepping into Ralph's shoes as a VTS controller. Can she become Aberdeen first ever woman in that role?

Out at sea, the crew on the Bibby Sapphire are bracing themselves for "Mother Nature at her worst" as a force ten storm heads directly towards them.

Meanwhile, in the Crown & Anchor, barmaid Val Morrison could never have expected to be serving a troop of Morris dancers...
