  • Milk

Over the summer we’ve seen direct action from farmers protesting over proposed price cuts. The cuts were cancelled and there have since been price rises. But, the price many farmers receive is still below the cost of production. So what is the way forward? Can farmers wrestle more control away from the processors and supermarkets by forming a producer’s organisation and by selling and exporting more value added products? Dougie investigates.

  • Farrier

If you think of a farrier- what image comes into your mind…a hefty bloke with bulging biceps, walloping a bit of red hot steel? That’s the common stereotype, but, there a few girls out there trying to break that mold. Here in Britain the craft of farriery is governed by a body formed in 1356 – the worshipful company of farriers.
Sarah went to meet Sarah Logie one of only a few women to become Associate members.
