Highlights from 2012's Great North Run. First held in 1981, the 13.1m race from Newcastle to South Shields has grown into the world's most popular half-marathon. This year's field includes double Olympic champion Mo Farah and the legendary Haile Gebrselassie, as well as tens of thousands of charity runners, who raise millions for good causes each year.
