Rap Britannia - UK State of Rhyme

In 2011 Charlie Sloth went on a road trip to learn about rap Up North. He discovered a thriving MC scene which the mainstream media didn't seem to know existed.

This year he's taking his search for homegrown talent Nationwide. Watch or Listen as Charlie sets off on a journey to experience the different rap scenes in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland - and tries to unite us through rhyme. He'll hear freestyles on the Shankill Road in Belfast, learn a bar or two in Welsh and host a rap showcase at the Edinburgh Festival.

Along the way he'll be putting his production skills to the test by creating a UK Rap Anthem which - with the help of MCs from across the British Isles - will rep' the strength and diversity of UK Rap to the world.
