Hazel Irvine presents coverage of the first round of the 2012 Women's British Open from Royal Liverpool at Hoylake, which will attract the vast majority of the world's best women golfers to the last major of the year.
Taiwan's Yani Tseng successfully defended her title in 2011, closing with a three under par 69 to win at Carnoustie. That meant the world No 1 became the youngest player ever - male or female - to win five majors, a feat she will be looking to build on in potentially challenging conditions in the north-west of England.
