Peter Baker looks at some of the key issues facing the Church in Wales, as its General Council prepares to meet this week.

  • Church in Wales

As the General Council of the Church in Wales prepares to meet in Lampeter this week, Peter Baker looks at some of the major issues facing the Church as it looks ahead to its centenary. The Council will be discussing its recent Review, and will seek to address some major challenges: too many buildings, too few worshippers, and almost no contact with youth. These are issues Peter raises with Archbishop Barry Morgan and other clerics. But Peter also visits Newport, where an experimental approach is bearing fruit. What will the Church be like in 2020? And who or what is it for?
