First Aid Kit

We welcome back Klara and Johanna Söderberg, aka Sweden's finest export, First Aid Kit. It's been 3 years since their last visit so it's about time they made another appearance.

First Aid Kit's debut EP, Drunken Trees, was released In 2008 by Rabid Records, the label run by Karin Andersson of The Knife/Fever Ray. Soon after, the sisters signed to Wichita, with whom they've released two full-length albums - 2009's home recorded The Big Black and the Blue, and this year's follow-up The Lion's Roar. The latter has been particularly successful in their home country, staying in the Swedish Top 10 for 15 consecutive weeks.

The band has been busy since their last visit supporting Jack White, playing numerous festivals including Glastonbury, and collaborated with one of their biggest influences - Conor Oberst - at Bright Eyes' February 2011 show in Stockholm. (Conor also co-wrote and sings on the closing track on the Lion's Roar, King of the World,).

At the 2011 Polar Music Prize, they performed Dancing Barefoot in front of its author Patti Smith, and made her cry - but in a good way.

We think First Aid Kit might well make you cry as well - also in a good way.
