Janine’s struggling with motherhood and things are tense with Michael. Syed joins Janine in the café – she is relieved to be having a ‘grown up’ conversation. Syed takes advantage and flogs his cleaning products to her. At home, Janine’s harassed; Scarlett won’t stop crying. Tanya helps Janine and explains that motherhood is hard but inadvertently plants the idea in Janine’s head that Michael is having an affair; Janine searches the house and finds a necklace. Janine confronts Michael but it turns out that the locket is a gift for Scarlett; her name is engraved on the back. Janine breaks down in tears.
It’s the anniversary of Dennis Rickman’s birthday; Sharon and Dennis Jnr blow the candle out on the cake they made for him before getting ready to leave Walford. Jack sees Sharon and tells her that it is a shame she’s leaving: he won’t win the bet he made with her - a kiss if she stayed. Sharon says goodbye to Ian who begs her to stay. Sharon snaps, tells Ian that she isn’t a coward like him and leaves. At the tube, Dennis helps Sharon realise that it’s time to stop running. Sharon decides to stay and Jack gets his kiss.
Alice finds the courage to talk to Anthony. Joey tries to dissuade Anthony’s feelings to no avail; Alice and Anthony admit that they really like each other.
Kat’s sneaking out to meet her mystery man when Alfie stops her: Shirley is drunk instead of working and he needs help. Alfie promises to take Kat out for dinner afterwards. Kat realises that Alfie is too busy to take her out, Shirley vomits over her shoes and Kat throws them at Alfie.
Jay tries to explain things to Abi but she tells him that he should have done more to stop Ben.
