Ian McEwan
Ian McEwan is one of Britain’s most celebrated writers, a five time Booker prize shortlisted nominee and winner of the prestigious award in 1998. The author of two collections of short stories and twelve novels, including The Cement Garden and Enduring Love, he is perhaps best known for Atonement, which was adapted into an Oscar-winning film. McEwan is at the 2012 Edinburgh International Book festival to launch his 13th book, Sweet Tooth, set in the murky world of 1970s espionage. In the run up to publication, Kirsty Wark spoke to him about the influences and ideas which have made him one of Britain’s best-known and best-selling literary figures.
