  • Dementia UK

Provided by Dementia UK, Admiral Nurses are expert dementia nurses, who focus on the needs of the family carer. They are an invaluable source of contact and support for families at particular points of difficulty in the dementia journey, including diagnosis, when the condition advances, or when tough decisions need to be made such as moving a loved one into residential care. They help people live well with the Dementia and develop skills to improve communication and maintain relationships. Admiral Nurses also work compassionately and sensitively to help families cope with feelings of loss and bereavement as the condition deteriorates.
