Episode 2 of 4

Duration: 1 hour

In this new series, the Hairy Bikers become the Hairy Dieters as they accept that years of overindulgence has taken its toll. But the boys are determined to still love their food and lose weight, which means confronting some truths about themselves and what they normally eat.

In this episode, Dave and Si's challenge is to reinvent their favourite family meals. They set out to tackle a slimline cooked breakfast but they're determined to deliver all the excitement of a fry-up without the damage to the waistline.

The boys' families are backing them on their journey and they still want to relish the family weekend lunch. So the Bikers set out to re-invent a delicious roast chicken dinner.

The pair catch up on the progress of the Big Eaters - fellow foodies who are also trying to reduce their weight while worshipping good food. And the Bikers re-visit Professor Roy Taylor of Newcastle University. He tells them if they have managed to shed any weight, and gives them his next prescription - to have a go at swapping their famous motorcycles for bicycles.

An increase in heart rate and fat burning seems even more desirable with their next monster challenge in sight - the re-working of the French high calorie classic the cassoulet. It's a feast to set before two famished rugby teams. Will the rugby players appreciate the low-cal virtues of the Biker's dish, or will they opt for the traditional post match high calorie curry?
