    The post-war era held a number of family secrets, especially concerning illegitimacy. Sue Woodford-Hollick was born in Streatham, London in 1945. Her birth and childhood were surrounded by secrets, and having struggled to discuss it with friends and family for years, Sue agreed to speak to her daughter Abigail for the first time about her hidden childhood, and we hear their conversation. In the studio, Jenni speaks to Professor Carol Smart, Co-Director, Morgan Centre for the Study of Relationships and Personal Life at Manchester University, and to Tom and John Frankland, father and son co-creators of Frankland & Sons - a touring show based around their experiences of discovering a similar family secret of their own.

    A report out today says the UK isn’t doing enough to help older people to stay in employment. The Resolution Foundation report says women aged over 50 face particularly high barriers to finding work and staying in a job. Woman’s Hour speaks to Vidhya Alakeson, one of the authors of the report, and asks why this is happening.

    Passionate about the food of the bacari in back-street Venice, restaurateur Russell Norman left the corporate world behind to set up his own bacaro back in London. He wanted to create somewhere earthy and cool, offering affordable authentic Venetian food. It was an instant success - so much so that he has since opened up two more Polpo bacari. Russell joins Jenni to demonstrate his recipe for Tiramisu Pots, taken from his new Polpo cookbook (published by Bloomsbury).
