Brian Matthew turns back the clock as he shares his expert knowledge of pops golden era with an eclectic mixture of classic tracks and rarities from some great artists of the time.

Including music from the likes of The Cookies, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Dusty Springfield and Nancy Wilson. Amongst the records, there are listener requests for The Purple Gang, the theme tune to the old television programme Season On The Shore, by Mr Acker Bilk. Plus a Dave Berry cover of an original song by The Kinks which sadly never made it out of the studio and into the record stores.

We also reveal which song by The Sandpipers was originally a poem adapted by Pete Seegar and to this day remains one of the most famous songs to come out of Cuba.
