There's a gentle nod towards the London 2012 Games this week, as we mark the beginning of this spectacular event with a listener request for the 1968 comedy song An Olympic Record by The Baron Knights.

Other requests this week include tracks from The Downliners Sect, Neil Sedaka, Herman's Hermits and Pat Powdrill.

There's an American theme to this week's Loose Connection as we reveal what links Dusty Springfield's Wishin' & Hopin', The Dave Clarke Five's I Like It Like That and Love Potion Number 9 by The Searchers.

Alongside all of this, Brian Matthew will be hosting a feast of musical facts and figures for you to digest, and jogging your memory about a little band called Fluff.
