On the Road in Honduras (1/3)

The small central American state Honduras is being torn apart by violence and crime, much of it fuelled by the illegal drugs trade. It is reckoned that up to 80 per cent of the cocaine shipped into the US from Latin America transits through Honduras by air and by sea. The US is pushing the Honduran government to crackdown on the narco-traffickers but, as Stephen Sackur explores, in a country riven with corruption and violence, is the drugs war proving counter-productive?
