Joey’s slept on the sofa at the Butchers’. Derek’s cooking spaghetti Bolognese and Alice tries to persuade Joey to have lunch with them. Lauren advises Joey to cleverly show Alice the real Derek. Joey joins Alice and Derek for lunch, but brings Lauren, Whitney, Tyler, Lucy and Fat Boy along. Derek simmers with rage. When Joey ruins the meal with excess salt, Derek flies at him and screams at him to get out. Alice takes Derek’s side; Walford’s her home now and if Joey won’t apologise he should leave. Joey goes, telling Derek it’s only a matter of time until Alice’s eyes are opened.
Shirley’s irritable and Phil thinks she needs to go back to work. Phil and Ben see a reminder flash up on Shirley’s phone – it’s Heather’s birthday tomorrow. Phil deletes it before Shirley can see it. Phil’s annoyed when he’s lumbered with an old burger van after Ben signs for a delivery. When Phil finds Shirley moping over an 80’s night flyer in R&R he decides the van might just be the thing for her.
Kat and Alfie bicker about Michael. Mo lets Jean have a telescope from a pile of junk she’s planning to sell. Kat refuses to tell Alfie what she’s planning for the football trials. Before the trials, Kat enjoys being the centre of attention as she lectures the men and flirts with them all. Mo claims the role of team physio. Alfie hobbles back after trials. Kat announces her team – Andrew in goal; Winston, Jay, Syed and Masood in defence; Anthony, Fatboy, Max and Jack in midfield. Kat’s planning to put Ray up front with Tyler, but hesitates and instead gives Ray’s spot to Alfie.
Lola spends her sixteenth birthday in court where she’s given an ankle tag.
