Chris Webb, author and new vicar of Lampeter
On All Things Considered this week Roy Jenkins guest is the newly appointed vicar of Lampeter Chris Webb.
To have a book you have written described as ‘a marvel and a joy’ must be gratifying for any new author. When the accolade comes from someone reckoned among the most influential Christian writers of the last century, who is long, been a personal hero…well, you’ve a reasonable excuse for being at least modestly pleased.
And we are pleased that Chris Webb, author of ‘The Fire of the Word’, has joined us for this week’s programme. He was installed this week as the vicar of Lampeter, returning to Wales after four and a half years in Colorado.
There he was the president of the renewal movement Renovare US, founded by the Quaker theologian Richard J. Foster, whose own book Celebration of Discipline, has sold around the world for more than 30 years. And needless to say, it was Mr Foster who found Chris Webb’s work ‘a marvel and a joy’
