The body of 24-year-old Shirley Finlay was found dumped in a car park in Ballymena on 19 September 2006. The post-mortem revealed she had been badly beaten and strangled. Shirley had been suffering from mental health problems and was particularly vulnerable at the time she was murdered.
Crucial evidence gathered at the crime scene would eventually lead to the conviction of her vicious killer.
