Anais Mitchell is a singer songwriter from Vermont. In 2010 Anais released Hadestown a folk opera, described as "the story of Orpheus and Eurydice set in post-apocalyptic Depression-era America." The album included guest appearances by Ani DiFranco, Greg Brown, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver and Ben Knox Miller of The Low Anthem. Bon Iver also covered a track on Anais latest album Young Man in America, which came out on her own label Wilderland Records. The album is produced by Todd Sickafoose who assembled some of Brooklyn's most sought-after rock and experimental jazz players including guitarist Adam Levy, violinist Jenny Scheinman and drummers Kenny Wollesen.
