Theatre Music: Shakespeare
Penny Gore explores theatre music written for Shakespeare's plays. Today, a cast of actors and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra is joined by drama students from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in an abridged semi-staged performance of Shakespeare's irresistible comedy, Much Ado About Nothing. The music was written soon after the First World War by the precocious Eric Korngold.
