Jay flees from Heather’s. Crouching over Heather’s lifeless body, Ben covers her face in a tea towel. Phil storms in to confront Ben, then sees Heather’s body. Ben pleads for help, insisting Heather told on him. Rose knocks on Heather’s door, Phil gestures for Ben to be quiet until she goes. Phil warns Ben he’s facing life now he’s 16. Ben insists Jay was there too. A decision made, Phil tells Ben he’s not going back to Ian’s. Shirley orders a celebratory curry for Phil’s homecoming. Phil ransacks Heather’s. Ben’s shaken to find George asleep in the bedroom. Phil notices the phone off the hook and replaces it. Ben strokes Heather’s hair, bloodying his hands. Taking the photo frame, Phil breaks the door lock as they flee the scene. Outside, Roxy’s surprised to see Phil with Ben. Phil claims he’ll hear Ben out. As they reconcile, Ben hugs Roxy, getting blood on her coat. They discover Jay at the Arches, in shock. Phil comforts him. Ben notices Jay’s Stag hoody and hides it. Phil sends Ben to dump the photo frame in the canal and burns Ben’s sweatshirt. At Phil’s, Shirley’s interrupted as she listens to Heather’s voicemail. Jay falters on approaching the house. Phil warns him they’ll be hunted if anyone finds out. Shirley’s unimpressed to see Ben. Billy notes Jay’s looking pasty; Phil claims he’s sick. Learning of the voicemail, Phil takes Shirley’s phone and listens to a recording of Ben killing Heather, then deletes it. Jay bolts from the room during dinner. Billy comforts him, bemused, as he sobs. Roxy urges Shirley to make up with Heather. Noticing blood on Roxy’s coat, Ben puts it in the washing machine. Phil’s left helpless as Shirley heads for Heather’s. Outside, Shirley notes the front door open and enters.
