Jamie Cullum showcases his love for all types of jazz, and music rooted in jazz, from its heritage to the future.

This week, Jamie features a BBC Maida Vale session with the Israeli bassist, composer and singer Avishai Cohen. Avishai's music is heavily influenced by Middle Eastern grooves and African-American musical idioms, and he has performed and recorded with the likes of Chick Corea and Bobby McFerrin.

For the session Avishai Cohen performs songs from his latest album, Seven Seas, in a trio alongside Amir Bresler and Omri Mor.
