New figures show how many seals were shot by Scottish salmon farmers, protecting their stocks, in 2011. 326 were killed, about a quarter of the number permitted by the Scottish Government. Lambing season is gathering pace, when UK farmers will supervise the birth of around 15 million lambs. We hear from a farmer who started lambing when Christmas was barely over.
