Synopsis

Listeners talk about the impact of Graham Reid's Billy Plays 30 years after they were first broadcast.

Michael McCaldin from Lisnarick, Co Fermanagh

Michael McCaldin from Lisnarick in Fermanagh discusses how the plays accurately reflected the standard of living at the time, how many families will identify with someone leaving to find work overseas, and how he enjoyed the Ulster 'black humour' present throughout the plays. Michael also reads a letter he wrote in 1984 praising the final play in the trilogy 'A Coming to terms for Billy'
