Honourably knows as Mallika-E-Tarannum or 'Queen of Melody', she was and is one of Pakistan's greatest singers of all time. Known to the world as Noor Jehan, today we have rare archive footage of an interview and an performance she did for the BBC back in the 80s.

From Sunday 22nd January, the station will be hosting a Red Button event called Asian Network Gold. You will have the chance to hear and watch some classic archive interviews of stars like Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Noor Jehan, Raj Kapoor, Sridevi and Asha Bhosle to name a few.
