A rare opportunity to explore the enigma that is Jack White. The musician and occasional actor reflects on his life, from the early years as an altar boy, through his apprenticeship in upholstery, to international rock stardom with the White Stripes.
We hear about his hometown Detroit and the influence of local heroes, the MC5 and the Stooges. He remembers his early days as a drummer and thereafter as a reluctant frontman; plus the fledgling bands where he cut his cloth - the Mexicans and Moon Age Daydream to name but two.
It's a journey that takes us through all his musical incarnations, with contributions from various members of the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather. A self proclaimed "huckster" Jack White is as articulate talking Robert Johnson as he is espousing the relative merits of Johnny Cash and his co-conspirators in the film It Might Get Loud, Jimmy Page and the Edge.
