It's the start of a momentous year for athletics and Jonathan Edwards is in Edinburgh for three world class races over the testing cross country course set in picturesque Holyrood Park.
With London 2012 on the horizon, three reigning Olympic champions go head to head in the men's 3km race, among them the great Ethiopian, Kenenisa Bekele.
The men's and women's long races are no less competitive, both featuring the reigning European Cross Country champions. Scotland's Steph Twell will be looking to use home advantage as she continues to rebuild her career after horrendous injury and claim a place in the GB Olympic team.
