Countryfile’s Village Christmas
Matt, Ellie, John and Jules meet up to celebrate Christmas in the sleepy village of Clifford Chambers in Warwickshire. They discover how the village Christmas celebrations have changed over the years, and set about bringing the village together for an evening of Countryfile sparkle, song and surprise. But first they have to get there, and what better way to arrive, than by camel!

Jules And The Little Donkeys
No Christmas scene would be complete without a donkey, so Jules Hudson meets local miniature donkey breeder Julie Boyce to discover the massive appeal of these knee-high beauties. Originating from the arid heat of Sardinia, farrier Ben Harte explains the special care these miniature animals need to thrive in the Warwickshire countryside. Jules also gets to experience their pulling power whilst walking with champion stallion Candyman.

John Searches For Gold, Frankincense And Myrrh
John’s mission this week is to find three gifts suitable for our traditional village Christmas celebration. He’s looking for British versions of Gold, Frankincense And Myrrh, but he’ll need to find everything he needs in the county of Warwickshire. Never one to be put off by a challenge, John searches everywhere from woodland to a brewery before finally coming up with a rather unique set of gifts.

Woodland Crafts
Historically it was the woodlands in winter that were bustling with activity rather than the High Street. - so Jules Hudson steps into a Warwickshire wood to meet a group who keep the traditions of yesterday alive. Jules learns about the superstitions woven into Christmas decorations and tastes a typical woodsman venison stew, before trying his hand as a greenwood worker on the pole lathe.

Adam Helps A Young Shepherd
Adam has received a request from a budding young shepherd called Connor in Wales who wants his help in choosing a couple of rare breed sheep. Adam visits the family farm to see what kind of land they have available and why Connor is so passionate about starting his own flock. He then takes Connor with his mum and dad to the Royal Welsh Winter Fair in Builth Wells. With Adam’s help, Connor decides which two ewes he’d like to take home – but first he has to bid for them at auction.

Ellie Helps Make Figgy Pudding
Ellie Harrison visits the Tudor estate at Charlecote Hall where legend has it William Shakespeare was caught poaching. This, according to the story, led to him leaving Stratford to seek fame and fortune in London. Food historian Gerard Baker demonstrates how to make a dish that was popular in Shakespeare’s time - Figgy Pudding - using authentic ingredients for the Tudor dish. Whilst this steams they turn their hands to another local delicacy Coventry God Cakes.
