Readings
NATALIE DANKS-SMITH lives and works in Stratford –upon- Avon. She reads The Birth of Jesus Foretold, Luke 1: 26-35 and 38, which tells the story of the Angel visiting Mary to tell her she will bear God’s son. The families featured in the reading all attend a pre-school play group.
COUNCILLOR ERIC PAYNE is the Chairman of Stratford on Avon District Council. He reads The Birth of Jesus, Luke 2: 1-7, which tells the story of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem and Jesus’s birth.
‘CLICK & CHATTER’ is a knitting group based locally. Some of its members read The Shepherds and The Angels, Luke 2: 8-16, when angels reveal the news of Jesus’ birth to shepherds guarding their flocks.
RUTH POULTEN also lives locally. She reads The Visit of The Magi, Matthew 2: 1- 5, 8-11, which tells the story of the three Kings’ visit to the infant Jesus. -
Performers
JOE MCELDERRY – Joe rose to fame when he won the sixth series of the ITV show The X Factor in 2009. He also recently won the ITV show ‘Popstar to Operastar’. He performs two of the tracks on his newest album ‘Joe McElderry – Classic Christmas’ – When A Child is Born and The Little Drummer Boy.
ASHLEIGH SHEARSBY – Ashleigh played the drum in Joe McElderry’s performance of ‘The Little Drummer Boy’. Ashleigh is a member of Warwick Girls Marching Band.
STRATFORD PREPARATORY SCHOOL – The choir from Stratford Preparatory School sang Silent Night and the Nursery School children performed their Nativity play. -

The location for all the music was HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, STRATFORD UPON AVON
As well as being a thriving Parish church, it receives many thousands of visitors each year by virtue of the fact that William Shakespeare was baptized there, and is buried in the chancel.
