  • Other Information

    Nimrod Coach
The "Nimrod" Road Coach was built for John Brown in 2006. Great attention to detail was paid during its construction and painting. The result is what would have been seen on the roads in the mid-1800s before the coming of the railways, the equivalent in effect of today's buses and trains.
The horses are John's Gelderlanders, a Dutch breed now very popular for coaching as they have impressive presence and a stylish action
Each autumn, for the past four years, the coach and team have carried out a 100-mile, 5-day tour to raise money for the two Service charities Help for Heroes and The Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund. This year's tour was from Windsor Castle to Warwick Castle. Next year, as well as the Autumn tour, "Nimrod" will be travelling from London to Dover during a weekend in June as part of the celebrations to mark the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens.
