Synopsis

Each week Aled Jones plays tracks from a broad musical spectrum that celebrates both our choral traditions and the vibrant world of modern music as well as spiritually uplifting and reflective music. He discusses religious and ethical issues of the week with faith representatives.

This week, Aled Jones says Good Morning Sunday to soul singer Kenny Thomas and his faith guest is Father Christohper Jamison who will also have a moment of reflection.

Father Christopher Jamison

Father Christopher Jamison is a Benedictine monk who first came to public attention as Abbot of Worth Abbey, featured in the BBC 2 series The Monastery and The Big Silence.

He was born in Australia and his family emigrated to the UK when he was a child. He became a monk in 1973 and was Headmaster at Worth School before becoming Abbot of Worth Abbey. In 2010, he stepped down as Abbot and is now Director of the Catholic Church’s National Office for Vocation based in London.

Father Christopher is an active Patron of the Cardinal Hume Centre, London, a charity that enables homeless young people to achieve their full potential.

Kenny Thomas

Soul singer Kenny Thomas leapt to fame in 1991 when he had 3 singles in the UK charts including the song he is probably best known for "Thinking About Your Love".

Kenny lives in London with his wife the singer/songwriter Francisca Blasich and they have a daughter together. Kenny's Catholic faith is extremely important to him. Last year he completed a degree in acupuncture and oriental medicine. His latest album "Breathe" is out now.

Steven Sproat

Singer/Songwriter Steven Sproat is probably best known for his expertise on the ukulele across the UK and America. He's taught Nicky Campbell, Harry Hill and Sir Tom Courtenay and has recently featured in a BBC4 programme with Frank Skinner on George Formby.

He is latest book ‘The Next Step’ is due to be published in January 2012. Steven is practicing Christian and worship leader.
