Pumpkin Soup

Wednesday sees Shaun chat with brilliant Irish comedian Ed Byrne about his new critically acclaimed show Crowd Pleaser. The show toured extensively through the UK in the spring and had a hugely successful month long run at the Edinburgh fringe and is back on the road due. Ed tells Shaun about the main themes of the show that include being a nerd, owning a cat, meeting your heroes and becoming a dad.

Ed has hosted BBC 1's Live At The Apollo and is a regular panellist on BBC 2's Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You as well as various other new comedy shows including Miranda Harts Christmas Unwrapped. A sucker for a quiz, particular recent highlights for Ed have been taking part in Celebrity Mastermind and being a contestant on Celebrity Pointless. Ed is also a regular contributor to comedy and music shows on both BBC Radio 2 and 4 and 6 Music.

All this plus Matt Everitt joins once more with the day's music news and Shaun takes a rib-tickling satirical romp through the day's news and events, with the perfect morning soundtrack for any music-lover; from northern soul to new folk; rock 'n' roll to indie disco. New tracks from the likes of Wild Beasts and Florence & The Machine delightfully wrap around your semi-conscious ears, along with the best of the greatest back catalogues on the planet; be they The Smiths, The Stones, The Clash or Fleetwood Mac.
