She wrote across several genres and historical periods, but is best know for her historical romances set in Regency England. Despite her enormous popularity, she was intensely private, never gave an interview and had very little time for her fans. Jennifer Kloester has spent ten years researching Heyer’s life and writing and has had unlimited access to her notebooks and private papers. She and novelist Katie Fforde, a great fan of Heyer’s writing, join Jane in the studio.

Now that our Zero Waste family have completed their one-month experiment, we discuss whether it’s practical and feasible for the average family to achieve zero waste. Why does recycling - especially mixed plastics - vary so much from council to council? And what are retailers doing to help? Karen Cannard was the first to keep a Zero Waste diary on Woman's Hour 3 years ago –she’s kept it up and still blogs about it. Bob Gordon is the Head of Environment at the British Retail Consortium and Dr Liz Goodwin is CEO of WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme.) • Miscarriage care

Around one in four pregnancies end in miscarriage, and though women experiencing miscarriage are often at their most vulnerable, two new surveys this week by the baby website Gurgle and by Mumsnet have revealed that the care, support and treatment they receive doesn’t always match their needs. Some women don’t receive the right information, effective treatment and in some cases end up being placed on the labour ward. To discuss what needs to be done, Jane is joined by Vanessa Rodgers who has had two miscarriages, Mumsnet co-founder Carrie Longton who's calling for a Miscarriage Code of Care and Professor Siobhan Quenby, Professor of Obstetrics at Warwick Medical School.
