    CATHERINE SOUTON

Catherine joined Sotheby’s auctioneers in 1996. Initially helping to catalogue toys and mechanical music in the Collectors Department, Catherine quickly progressed to become an auctioneer and worldwide Head of Scientific and Medical Instruments, and Maritime Works of Art.

Her experiences to date, including subsequently working within the Clocks and Watches Department at Sotheby’s, have given Catherine a diverse field of knowledge, which she puts to good use when appearing as a regular on-screen expert on Flog It! and Bargain Hunt.

    PHILIP SERRELL

Philip started in the business cleaning the muck out of the sheep pens for the local livestock market auctioneers in 1976. Some people feel this was a task to which he was ‘well suited’ he says. Serrell would later become an auctioneer, working in the local livestock trade until qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1988, specializing in fine art and antiques.

Coming from Worcester, Philip has a huge passion for Worcester porcelain and sauce. He also has a keen interest in old cars and a house full of tat including a wooden leg for a sheep and an Edwardian optician’s board.
