Live from the Victoria Hall, Hanley

The BBC Philharmonic give their first concert with their new Chief Conductor Juanjo Mena at the Victoria Hall in Hanley. They perform music from his native Spain, including the two colourful suites from Manuel de Falla's ballet "The Three-cornered Hat" and one of Rodrigo's cello concertos. Two French masters cast their eyes to sunny Spain; Bizet with his dramatic music for "Carmen", and Ravel's powerful Bolero.

de Falla: The Three Cornered Hat, Suites 1 and 2
