X-Press 2 takeover
Godfathers of the UK house music scene X-Press 2 take over the 6 Mix with two hours of club classics and future floorfillers. Rocky and Diesel from the band first met at the legendary acid house nights Shroom and Specturum in the late 80s. Along with then member Ashley Beedle, the trio become stalwarts of the early 90s clubbing scene, releasing a series of seminal underground singles including 'Raise Your Hands' and 'London X-Press.' In 2002 they had a top three hit with Lazy, featuring the vocals of Talking Heads' David Byrne, leading on to collaborations with Lambchop's Kurt Wagner and The Music's Rob Harvey. Since becoming a duo, Rocky & Diesel have been busy DJ-ing worldwide and putting the finishing touches to their forthcoming album which includes collaborations with James Yuill and Tim Deluxe. In their first 6 Mix since 2008, the band showcase a selection of their new material and other contemporary favourites, alongside classic anthems from the past 25 years of house music.
