The Independent Commission on Banking is expected to signal the biggest shake-up of the financial sector in decades when it releases the Vicker's Report. It will recommend that banks should protect their retail operations from riskier investment banking units and raise capital level to protect taxpayers from future crises. We speak to Simon Maughan, a banking expert at MF Global and Dr. Andrew Lilico, Director of Europe Economics. We also look ahead to the TUC's annual conference and how a cable is being placed onto the seabed of the Atlantic, all in an effort to save precious milliseconds, worth tens of millions of pounds to deals. Finally we look at the papers and markets.
