First broadcast:

Tracks this week include: Tommy Quickly, Jose Feliciano, The Animals, Jeannie C Riley, Pet Clark, Marvin Gaye, Little Milton, Millie Small, Lenny Welch and a Double-A-Side USA from Chubby Checker. There is also the B side of the Beatles' From Me To You - but what was that?

The Sixties Chronicles looks back at events this week during the decade and marks the deaths of Harpo Marx, Sylvia Pankhurst and Billy Smart; there's a new tv series called Stranger On The Shore (and its theme tune), BBC TV invents the spinning globe as its symbol, The Prisoner begins an enigmatic run on television, a cartoon series featuring the Beatles (though not their voices) starts on American television and nudity comes to the London stage as the Lord Chamberlain's office loses its censorship role.
