    Paul Martin

    Paul Martin was discovered when he was interviewed about his passion for oak furniture by a team from BBC Bristol. This was the extent of his television experience! The team were so impressed by his natural confidence in front of the camera that he was signed up immediately to present the exciting BBC2 daytime antiques show.

    Paul enjoys drumming and in the early 90’s played in rock bands like `The Quire Boys’ and the ‘Dogs D’Amour’. He still loves to play in local jazz and blues bands. He enjoys still life drawing and walking his dog Bluebell but his passion is restoring antique country furniture.

    Clare Balding

    A regular presenter on Radio 4, Clare has fronted Saturday Live, Woman’s Hour, Pick of the Week, Broadcasting House and (for the last 9 years) the walking series Ramblings.

    On 5 live, Clare is part of the team that presents the National Hunt Festival from Cheltenham, co-presents its Wimbledon coverage and last year became the first woman to commentate on a Wimbledon final. She also works on the golf coverage at the Open.

    In 2009, she was praised for "perfect presentation" by the judges of the Broadcast Awards who named the Grand National 2008 as their sports programme of the year.

  • Charlie Luxton

    Charlie Luxton

    Charlie is an architectural designer who combines his design work with writing and presenting television programmes. He is passionate about the environment and communicating his enthusiasm for sustainable architecture and eco-friendly design.

    In 2008 Charlie became the face of Architecture and Design on Five. He presented the first series of I Own Britain's Best House and was later given access to landmark buildings, including the Bank of England, for Behind Closed Doors. His most recent projects for the channel include the returning series Build A New Life In The Country, and Best House On The Street. He has also completed filming on a second series of Vertical City for Gallery HD.
