    And up to half a million Beko fridge freezers could be a serious fire risk in homes across the country, firefighters warn.

    ADVICE FOR BEKO CUSTOMERS

    Up to half a million fridge freezers, all made by the company Beko, could have a faulty defroster timer switch which can lead to the appliance catching fire. The problem affects particular models manufactured between January 2000 and October 2006 with the following serial numbers:
