Julia Land and Amelia Land are sisters who are very different - one is an outgoing actress and one is an introverted academic - but they have in common the grief they still feel about losing their little sister, Olivia, who disappeared without a trace on a hot summer's night. When their father dies, they return to Edinburgh to clear out his house, and they find the teddy bear that they thought had disappeared with her. It reignites their desire to know what happened to Olivia. They ask Jackson Brodie to find out what happened and as he starts to investigate, both of the sisters find they now have something else in common - an admiration for Mr Brodie.
Natasha Little
