Writer, poet and performer Ian McMillan joins Frank Renton to talk about 'Brass', his recent collaboration with The Black Dyke Band telling the story of a banding family, with music by Philip Wilby. His love of brass bands stems right back to childhood days in Barnsley and he talks about the place music-making has in his life and the role that he sees banding fulfilling on today's music scene.
