Synopsis
Sir Terry Wogan presents his Sunday morning show, easing you into your Sunday lunch with music and musings.
Each week Sir Terry invites a star, a superstar or a rising star to the studio each week to perform an intimate, stripped-down performance. Within this part of the show Sir Terry showcases great musical performance, song-writing and artistic talent. He also chats with some of the biggest names from the worlds of music, theatre, film and TV.
This week Terry chats to Hollywood star Emilio Estevez on the phone and invites Marti Pellow into the studio to give a stripped-down performance.
Born into the acting Estevez family, with father Martin Sheen, brother Charlie Sheen, brother Ramon Estevez and sister Renee Estevez, Emilio is no stranger to Hollywood stardom. One of the members of the Brat Pack actors who appeared in the 80s, a plucky young Emilio first starred in The Outsiders and Repo Man, and was propelled to stardom in John Hughes' 80s classic The Breakfast Club. He continued to be a popular actor in the 80s and 90s with St Elmo's Fire, That Was Then... This Is Now, Stakeout and Young Guns, and in popular family film series The Mighty Ducks. With his first directorial work in 1987, Emilio has continued to work as a film director and his latest project The Way, starring his father Martin, is released on May 13th.
Scottish Marti Pellow is famed as lead singer of British group Wet Wet Wet, who enjoyed phenomenal success during the late 80s and 90s - their cover of 'Love Is All Around' was an international hit and spent 15 weeks at No 1 in the UK charts. The seventh instalment of Pellow's solo career, a new album of love song covers titled Love to Love, was released in February, and Pellow also stars as the title role in Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical which is touring the UK through 2011.
