Location
Sheffield City Hall is a magnificent art deco classical concert hall which has been respectfully modernised, whilst maintaining the unique atmosphere and charm of the original heritage. In particular, the organ, built by Henry Willis & Sons, is now the only remaining example in the world still unaltered from the original construction.
This Grade II listed building was designed by acclaimed architect Vincent E Harris and opened in 1932. Since opening, the venue has a developed an extensive legacy where entertainment, and in particular music, is concerned. The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix have graced the stage. City Hall continues to host over 750 events each year, incorporating a varied and diverse programme of entertainment, arts, business and community events and remains the City’s premier concert venue. It’s also the home of the Sheffield International Concert Season which attracts some of the finest orchestras and classical performers from across the world, and for which The Hallé is currently the orchestra in residence and season programmers.
